Geographical distribution of the ibex

 The ibex, populate mountain massifs, in France and in Italy, but in Spain to. His name indicates that it lives in the Alps, but other ibexes species populate other mountain massifs. For exemple, the spanish ibex lives in  Pyrenees, or other spanish mountain. In Swiss, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy and in France, they populate the heights.

    Most of the regions where they live, are in fact possible with help to reintroductions, possible thanks to the major part of the wild populations in Italy. These projects allowed to reset them starting geographical distribution, and the ibexes take back them place, little by little.

  But the ibexes who populate Italy, can't be reintroduced in Spain, because they aren't the same specie, we use other method : the cloning ( who will be explained in other page).

Ibex of the Alps:  It is presented in red, in this document.

Capra ibex ( ibex, because it is a european ibex, or ibex of Alps )

Ibex of Spain :  It is presented in blue, in this document.

Capra pyrenaica ( pyrenaica, because it is a spanish ibex )

Ibex of Pyrenees :  It is presented in green, in this document.

In Swizterland :  We observe in Switzerland, 15 000 ibexes. The most impressive is that this figure is the reason of an illegal reintroduction. In 1906, a man : Joseph Berard, who comes from the valley of Aoste, where his poacher's legendary family lives. He is going to go in Italy, in royal reserve, to capture a couple of ibexes there which will serve in the illegal colonization in Swiss.

In Slovenia :  The ibex was reintroduced in Slovenia, as usual, by capturing this animals in italian reserves who allowed all the reintroductions, and who prevented extinction of specie.

In Bulgaria :  In the Rila's massif, in Bulgaria, a colony was reintoduced, but still litlle populated, ans still little known, it isn't a parto of areas mainly busy by the ibexes.

In Spain :  In spain, they lived in mountains ( in pyrenees, in the north of Portugal, and in Andorra ). But now, it busy more and more varied circles. We observe 4 subspecies which succeed in living at a height at least of 200 m. By the sea up to most hight mountains of Andalusia; the only real characteristic, for a correct environment of life, is a presence of steep rocks.

In Spain :  The ibexes of Pyrenees, live in Spain, on the border, in the Pyrenees. They are very close relations of them cousins of Spain, who moreover required in their protection : the scientists cloned ibexes of Pyrenees with help of ibexes of Spain. Indeed, in the Pyrenees, this specie is an emblem, because it lives only in this place.The following problem is a reintroduction, because we can't put it somewhere else. Colonies of ibexes are more in more rare and little, cause genetic problems, then, clone this specie, will be to increase the populations, and avoid the consanguinity.

In Italy :  Italy is a country who allowed the reintroductions which today, re-form the old geographical distribution. 

In France :  One colonie lived in France until was created a national park, which is going to protect a ibex until make it his emblem. The population increase, and the animals go out of the park, repopulating nearby regions.

In France :  In Pyrenees, the colonies of ibexes live to. But they weren't able to be reintroduced by Italy, because, they aren't ibexes of the Alps, but ibexes of Pyrenees.
